Fort Wars (Age of Empires 3) / Re: Is the ladder down?

It is down, I played the most recent version (downloaded directly from the website) with two friends, and it didn't show.

Fort Wars (Age of Empires 3) / Re: Fort Wars 4.0 for TWC+TAD
« on: May 29, 2011, 06:46:57 PM »
I found myself fixing Age of Empires after a little problem I had using a Napoleonic Age installer which had been on my desktop for longer than I can remember, when I found I couldn't get TWC or TAD working. I decided with only vanilla, why not enjoy some Fort Wars? I hadn't played in so long, and the thought excited me, especially after having an overall bad weekend so far. So I went to, and head over to download it when I saw 4.1 just sitting there... At first I thought it was a joke, or a dream, but soon I found it was very much reality. I excitedly got on to my old monster of a computer which still had TWC and TAD working, and endured the (very slow) loading process.

I must admit, Fort Wars has always held a place in my heart, it is (in my mind) the best custom map/scenario ever to bless AOE. After all, it was Fort Wars that inspired me to make my own custom map clan, and also inspired me to become one of the best in the rankings.

This version still does not cease to amaze, while still a bit glitchy, it really brings me back to 4-5 years ago playing my first game against some Portuguese player who had cavalry with 100 range.

Well done pftq, and I am very glad to see that you're back  ;D

General Discussion / Re: AOEO and fort wars

I too have been playing the online beta, but I was brought in quite a while ago, around New Years  ;). If I understood script at all, I would try to make something when they come out with any ability to create custom maps or scenarios, but unfortunately I do not understand it...

Over all, the game is fun, but it's not as great as Age of Empires 3 or AOM.

Fort Wars (Age of Empires 3) / OOS problems
« on: May 29, 2011, 12:00:31 PM »
Well, fort wars is back, and I'm back to play it as well, but I have been running in to problems. The specific problem, is something else seems to be back, and that is the OOS problems. It has happened four times so far, in the middle of a 3 player ffa (it has not occurred in a 1v1 as of yet) and seems to be anywhere from 10-20 minutes in.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure what could be causing the problems, as I hadn't been doing anything unusual during that time, but they have been occurring.
